Bridging Task
Project X is a film about an out of control part, which seems like one of the best parties ever. Three geeky teenagers plan to have a little gathering of friends, but it soon turns into a massive riot, as the party was advertised on Facebook which then made thousands of people turn up, it turned out to be a bit too much for the teenagers to handle. The camera work used in the film is by a fourth teenager who is very discreet and secretive, this could show that teenagers in the film are very secretive about what they do at times. Project X was filmed in cinéma vérité style, only displaying the events of the film through the first-person view of the cameraman observing the party, to create the effect of the audience being in attendance at the out of control party. Other footage was provided from fictional police and news cameras to give a different perspective on the events. The location of the film shows that young people are well looked after as the housing estate is very big. The set can show two sides to young people, the normal side of them with the normal house with friends, then the bad side where it shows craziness in the youths such as cars ending up in swimming pools and everyone taking ecstasy. The facial expressions of the youths in the film can show concern and madness, such as when things start to get smashed the main teenager shows concern, but when he is stood on the roof of his house you can clearly see the madness in him when he decides to show a rude jester to a camera crew then jump off the roof onto a massive bouncy castle. The music played at the party shows that the young people are very up to date with music and like to dance/rave.
The Inbetweeners is a film about 4 teenagers who go on a lads holiday when they finish school. One of the teens has recently become single so they wanted to go on holiday with all of them being single, we later learn that one of the lads, Neil, does have a girlfriend and cheats on her when he finds someone who seems to be the exact same as him but in girl form. The camera views in the movie show us that most youths who go on holidays to party islands are crazy and love to get drunk. The location of the film is set in Magaluf, Mallorca, one of the main party islands usually populated by young people going to get drunk and possibly other things, this tells us that the youth of these days are up for anything at any time. The costumes in the films can be shown as quite immature, with such shirts as the 'pussy patrol' which all four teenagers where to get on the plane, unfortunately for them, they are forced to take them off if they want to get on the plane. The facial expressions of the youths in this film show us that they can be childish, angry and a many times so drunk they don't know what they're doing. Childish when they see a girl they like and smile, such as when they walk down the strip, angry when Jay gets thrown into a pool by a small kid, and drunk off their face when Jay gets over confident speaking to an advertiser for a club.
Superbad is a film about 3 under aged teens who are asked to go to a party, but they have to bring all the booze if they want what they are going for. There are many party scenes in this film, these scenes show youths drinking till they puke, this shows that the young people would be portrayed as heavy drinkers and crazy. The location of this film is in a city in America, also with many typical sets of parties dotted around. This film would show that the youths are all drunken idiots with one aim in life, to get laid, which doesn't always turn out to what they want it to be. The facial expressions in this film from the youths can show concern, fun, and worry. Concern is shown when one of the youths who has fake ID goes to buy alcohol for the party, and when cops storm in, the other teenagers are concerned about what has happened to their friend and why he is being taken by a police car. Fun is shown when they are at a house party, gathering even more alcohol for the party with their friends, the main character is dancing with a girl and seems to be very happy at his accomplishment with this girl. Worry can be shown when also dancing, the girl has her period on his leg, and he runs round the house trying get it out whilst everyone is laughing at him. The music in the film shows the typical youth taste, music to either dance or rave to, to have a good time whilst they are drunk.
